Hitters Evaluation

Take advantage of this opportunity to evaluate different mental preparation exercises for hitting. After every game, review your hitter's evaluation form and provide honest feedback. It's okay if you don't remember every detail at first—each time you assess your performance, it will become easier. As you continue, your confidence will grow, and these evaluations will strengthen your overall batting routine.

After each game, rate your mental approach to hitting for each at-bat on a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being the best and 5 being the worst.

On-Deck Preparation: This is your chance to form a game plan before stepping into the batter's box. Consider the situation, and understand what your coach expects.

Aggressive Mentality: Approach each at-bat with confidence. Think, "I'm going to have a great at-bat." Be ready to hit and own the batter's box.

Focus: Are you seeing the ball clearly from the pitcher's release point? Are you tracking the ball and recognizing spin? Are you maintaining eye contact through contact?

Plate Adjustments: Are you making necessary adjustments during each at-bat or after each pitch? Timing and or, your visual approach are the two areas that probably need adjusting.

Self-Talk: Use positive words or phrases to stay focused. Keep your mind on fundamental actions that will lead to success.

Poise: Your body language matters. Think positively, move confidently, and stay relaxed to maintain the right mindset throughout the competition.

Your Process: Do you have a consistent process, and are you trusting it? What steps do you follow, and are you confident in your swing?

Visualization: While on deck, did you visualize the upcoming pitch? Are you picturing specific pitch movements and making contact? Visualize yourself succeeding at the plate.

The form below has 4 evaluations. Once you complete your evaluations, add them to your journal. These evaluations are important in developing your training.
