The first thing is to recognize you're only working on the physical and technical components of the game. Mental training is the one thing young athletes are not actively seeking and it’s the most important piece to the puzzle. It’s not just closing your eyes and imagining yourself hitting home runs. It’s developing a daily plan, practicing breath work, correctly visualizing actionable goals, journaling your challenges, and tracking your progress. If you can develop and maintain your mental toughness, you will be years ahead of your peers.
